Martin Luther was not a humanist in the traditional sense of the term. While he shared some humanist ideals, such as the emphasis on individual interpretation of scripture and the rejection of certain aspects of medieval scholasticism, he also had significant differences with humanist thinkers of his time. Luther's primary focus was on religious reform and the authority of scripture, rather than the broader focus on classical learning and secular humanism that characterized the humanist movement. Therefore, while Luther may have been influenced by some humanist ideas, he cannot be considered a humanist in the same way as figures like Erasmus or Thomas More. **

Nicolaus Copernicus is considered a humanist because he was a Renaissance-era scholar who embraced humanist ideals such as the pursuit of knowledge, critical thinking, and the importance of individual achievement. Copernicus's revolutionary heliocentric theory, which placed the sun at the center of the universe, challenged the traditional geocentric view and reflected his commitment to empirical observation and scientific inquiry. Additionally, Copernicus's work was influenced by the humanist emphasis on the value of human potential and the belief in the power of reason to understand the natural world. Overall, Copernicus's intellectual pursuits and his commitment to advancing human knowledge align him with the humanist movement of the Renaissance. **

Erasmus of Rotterdam was a humanist because he believed in the power of education and the importance of studying classical texts to improve society. He promoted the idea of using reason and critical thinking to challenge traditional beliefs and practices. Erasmus also emphasized the value of individualism, freedom of thought, and the pursuit of knowledge for personal growth and enlightenment. Overall, his humanist beliefs centered around the idea of using education and intellectual pursuits to bring about positive change in the world. **

Yes, Leonardo da Vinci was accepted as a humanist during the Renaissance period. He was not only a renowned artist but also a scientist, engineer, and inventor, embodying the humanist ideals of curiosity, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the natural world. His works and writings reflected humanist values such as the importance of individual achievement, the pursuit of knowledge, and the celebration of human potential. Leonardo's diverse talents and interests exemplified the humanist belief in the limitless capabilities of the individual. **

Hitler's view of humanity was based on a belief in the superiority of the Aryan race and the need for the extermination of those he deemed inferior, such as Jews, disabled individuals, and others. This view was rooted in a belief in racial purity and the idea of a master race. In contrast, the Christian-humanist view of humanity emphasizes the inherent dignity and worth of every individual, regardless of race or background. It is based on the belief in the inherent goodness of humanity and the importance of compassion, empathy, and love for all people. Hitler's view was one of hatred and division, while the Christian-humanist view is one of love and unity. **
