The scratches on the cymbal are likely caused by the drumstick or mallet hitting the surface of the cymbal repeatedly during play. Over time, this can lead to wear and tear on the cymbal, resulting in visible scratches. While some scratches are normal and do not affect the sound quality of the cymbal, deep scratches or cracks may impact the cymbal's resonance and should be monitored closely. Regular maintenance and proper technique can help minimize the occurrence of scratches on cymbals. **

They may be able to fill in the cracks and restore the cymbal to playable condition. Another option is to use a cymbal repair kit, which typically includes adhesive and reinforcement tape to repair the cracks. However, it's important to note that these repairs may affect the sound and playability of the cymbal, so it's best to consult with a professional before attempting any repairs. If the cracks are severe or affecting the structural integrity of the cymbal, it may be best to replace it altogether. **
